I have spoken to Art and after conferring with several other board members, we have agreed…the 2012 Annual Photo Hunt deadline has been extended until July 18th. This should allow our members plenty of time to meet the criteria for the ten categories listed in this year’s Photo Hunt and provide you with the opportunity to create quality images. We will accept any submissions at tomorrow night’s meeting and again at our June meeting. The rules as posted in our last newsletter still apply.
I will also point out that on any given topic only three photos are permitted. For example if you decide to tackle the “Barns” category and you have located your barn then you have three shots to get it right. Once you have your three shots “in the can” so to speak then you can submit only one of the three in competition.
This is an honor system. You are free to enter a picture in each of the ten categories. The trick is to try to capture an engaging picture in as many of the ten categories as you can but remember…you only have thirty shots to do it all. In the days of film it was a lot easier to verify and perhaps more of a challenge because each participant received only one 36 exposure roll of film and we were given twelve categories to shoot and on the due date all film would be bulk processed. Your exposure and composition had to be right on back then. I wonder, do they make 30 exposure media cards?
I apologize for any inconvenience. Respectfully,
Ken Knight
Members,
I am sending you this e-mail as you have provided pictures for the past exhibits.
Op Sail Boat House Exhibit
We have a very large task as there are about 250 feet of wall space witha short time to put this together. We hope tostart hanging on May 18th and May 19th with possible dates of May 22nd, May 23rd , and May 24th.
The Boat House plans to open on either May 24th or 25th. The exhibit will run until about the first week in December 2012.
The frame size is unlimited - all sizes will work. The subject of the pictures is to be nautical/tidewater/wine/food/coastal wildlife etc.
There is no limit on the number of pictures each member can submit for the exhibit.
Please e-mail the card info to John Corley as soon as you can in order to get some of the cards printed before the hanging dates and so we can also get an estimate of the number of pictures we will have.
Thanks, John
