Black-and-White digital photography in this issue. A very timely
article since this Month’s f-64 Challenge IS…”Black-and-White”. I hope
that you will enjoy it and use the information to your benefit with a
submission in this month’s Challenge.
Our next scheduled meeting of the Shutterbug Club is this coming
Wednesday. (4/21/2014) This meeting is a Mentorship in the Garden
meeting. We will encourage our members upon arrival to pick up their
name tags near the entrance to the Rose Garden beginning about 6 p.m.
Your name tags will serve as your ID in the Botanical Garden. We
encourage you to pair up with other members of club and explore the
Norfolk Botanical Garden with your camera. Share and learn with other
Keep in mind the educational theme for the display at the Garden for May
and June is/are Roses (May) and Daylilies (June). We are looking to
contribute “Quality” images of these, and other Botanical Garden images
for the Garden’s Educational Displays. If you take a picture of a
unique specimen, remember to take a picture of the garden nametag for
identification purposes. Include your image and the specimen nametag
information when you submit your images to Victoria York for any display
at the Garden.
At about 7:30 p.m. I plan to begin a brief series of Photoshop Elements
Post Processing demonstrations courtesy of Peggy Wortman, in the
Administration Building prior to the start of our official meeting.
Our planned meeting will begin at about 8:15 (Shortly after sundown).
During our meeting, I plan to put forth to our membership a bylaws
proposal that will authorize the Shutterbug Club to properly dispose of
unclaimed pictures from our Educational Displays and outside Exhibits.
After a brief discussion and vote I open the floor to announcements and
will conclude with the recognition of the f-64 Challenge Award winners
from last month’s “Water Features” contest.
June’s F-64 Challenge will be Norfolk Harborfest 2014 scheduled to run
from June 6th - 8th. “Rubber Ducky” pictures will also be considered
part of the Harborfest f-64 Challenge for the month of June. The June
Challenge will conclude our 2013 – 2014 f-64 contest.
I look forward to seeing everyone there. Drive carefully and take
plenty of pictures…preferably not at the same time.
