Midnight deadline tonight for the May f-64 Challenge “Photographer’s Choice”. Also, midnight tonight will ring in June 1st and the start of our FINAL f-64 Challenge for this calendar year. Speaking of which, the final June Challenge is the “Moon”. Those of you out shooting last night had very clear skies and a waxing Moon at about 92%. Next full moon is coming up June 2nd. Oh, and is there anything in the Challenge description that specifies “full” Moon? Get your images in before midnight for the May Challenge and you have until June 30th to submit for our final Challenge of this fiscal year.
Our next Shutterbug meeting is scheduled for June 10 in the Folio Room at the Central Library in Virginia Beach. At this meeting we hope to be able to share with everyone some concrete information on our transition to a bi-monthly meeting agenda with some confirmed dates and times.
We have been approached by former Shutterbug member Estelle Ware now residing in England. Estelle is currently Programme Secretary to the Bunwell & District Camera Club based near Norfolk, in the UK. She and her club have proposed an image exchange program with the Hampton Roads Digital Shutterbug Club. We are currently working out the details and I will share this information with the club at the June meeting.
Our guest speaker at the June meeting will be Don Mercer and his topic will be “Selecting a Photographic Project that Challenges You!” Many of you may remember Don’s last presentation to the Shutterbug Club on photographing in Africa which was well received by our members early last year. I am looking forward to a great presentation.
Reserve Wednesday, August 18th on your calendars for this year’s Annual Dinner and Awards Ceremony to be held at the Golden Corral at 400 South Independence Blvd., in Virginia Beach. As with past Annual dinners we will gather once again for our Annual Shutterbug picture prior to dinner and our meeting.
Attached to this email is a list of a Nikon camera system that may be of interest to some of our club members. Due to an illness, a close friend is unable to use a Nikon D3200 camera system. She has offered our club first crack at offering a bid on her system. This system has less than 250 clicks on the shutter and is in pristine condition. If interested contact me directly. If still available I will bring it to the June meeting.
