Bill McIntosh, renowned portrait photographer, on July 1st will deliver
a one hour presentation at the Virginia Beach Photography Club. The
Virginia Beach Photography Club will meet at 7:30 p.m. at the United
Methodist Church on Old Kempsville Road in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
Pam Jenkins would like to invite everyone from the Hampton Roads Digital
Shutterbug Club to join them for Bill’s presentation. John Laurie,
President of the Virginia Beach Photography Club has offered to make a
quick announcement at our next monthly meeting.
Our next monthly meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, June 18th. This
will also be a Mentorship in the Garden Meeting. For this meeting I
would like to divide the club up into three groups…Nikon, Canon and
“Other”. When you pick up your name tag near the Rose Garden entrance I
would like to challenge our members to gather into groups of like-minded
equipment compatible groups prior to venturing off into the garden. Try
to divide yourselves up by make and model and include if possible in
your group a mix of more experienced and lesser experienced
photographers. Let us make this a learning experience for everyone. I
am going to start the July f-64 Challenge Early time. The first f-64
Challenge of the 2014 – 2015 fiscal year will be….”The Norfolk Botanical
Garden” Images for this challenge will be date restricted and must be
taken between June 18th and July 31st, 2014. Image editing is allowed.
Speaking of Challenges. The current June Challenge is the last
Challenge of THIS fiscal year. It is going to be a down to the wire
finish this year. NONE of the four current leaders are guaranteed win
this year. The pack is hard on the heels of the fox so to speak. Good
luck to everyone.
The May Challenge has set a couple of new records. This month we have
set a record for the largest number of participants in the f-64
Challenge AND we have set a new record for the largest turnout of
voters. So large in fact that I think we have surpassed turnout even by
the state of Virginia in a peak election year. Way to go!
Voting is open for another 24 hours…if you are one of those that has put
off voting, you still have a narrow margin to cast your ballots at:

on the right side of our home page.
Respectfully,
