I wish at this time to welcome all visitors and new members to the Hampton Roads
Digital Shutterbug Club. We hope that your experience at our last
meeting was positive and that you will continue to join us in sharing our common
love of digital photography.
A reminder to all “established”
members. The annual renewal of membership was due in August. Many of
you have been out of town and I do not want to drop you from our mailing list.
I will continue mailing our newsletter and updates for a couple of more
issues before our list is revised. You can mail your dues

I have attached a PDF copy of our newsletter to this
email. I apologize for the late distribution of this issue and hope to
have the next issue out on time at the end of this month. I appear to be
having an issue in the way this PDF displays…there appears to be a formatting
issue between Microsoft Publisher and the PDF option. I am working on
resolving this issue and hopefully will have it fixed by the time our next issue
goes to press. Thank you in advance…this month’s issue may look a little
strange with a portrait layout displayed on a landscape page but none the less
it can be read…just zoom in a little on it.
I have with the permission of a
couple of our past f-64 Challenge winners, started a new column in this issue
titled Image Analysis and Image Adjustment. The goal of “Analysis” is to
share with the rest of our membership some of the elements that made their
images stand out from the others in our monthly competition. The
“Adjustment” section will attempt to show our membership some of the hidden
potential that perhaps did not show in the original contest image. In
other words…did other options and opportunities exist that perhaps the original
photographer chose to leave out or miss. I hope that you find these new
columns to be helpful as you pursue your love of digital
