George Morissette
I started taking pictures over 50 years ago with a Kodak Brownie and after joining the Navy I went through about 3 cameras, of which 2 of them were 35mm, before going to my 35mm Minolta Maxum. While in the Navy, I was crew photographer in a P2V Neptune, even though I didn't go to school for it. I Took many pictures over the Arctic Circle using a Navy camera with high speed, black & white film. I took courses in Photography, as part of my Fine Arts degree at TCC in Virginia Beach. That's when I built my own Dark Room. I used the Minolta camera until digital cameras came out and never looked back. I went through four compact cameras with long lenses before getting my compact Canon SX30IS, which has a 35X extended lens. I'm sticking to compacts for now because I love telephoto work and can't afford the lenses I'd have to buy to get the same effect.
I joined the Shutterbug Club about 5 years ago with my daughter Cheryl and Great Granddaughter Alexxis. I like shooting flowers, animals and scenic landscape.
