Proposed Recognition and Awards
The Shutterbug Board will establish a list of challenges for the coming year. Challenges will alternate between open ended unrestricted entries and task specific educational challenges.
The use of image editing software will be permitted with the understanding that in some task specific challenges the use of image editing will not be an option.
Below is a guide to Image Quality and Sizing for submissions:
- Established in an attempt to promote and recognize digital photographic excellence within the membership of our club.
- Participation by our membership is strictly voluntary.
- Challenges are designed to develop diverse mastery of the digital photographic medium and are meant to be educational.
- Challenges are time sensitive. They are designed to promote growth and not rely on past accomplishments.
- Participants are limited to one submission per challenge. This is done to keep the project manageable.
- Submission will be collected electronically. All submissions will be in JPEG format. This is done also to help keep the project manageable.
- Images submitted must be received on or before Midnight of the last day of the current month.
- The images will be displayed for all club members to see and cast their ballot.
- A cut-off date for voting will be set prior to the next monthly meeting.
- Total vote count will determine 1st, 2nd, 3rd and Honorable Mention Recognition.
Proposed Recognition and Awards
- Winners of the monthly challenge will be recognized and their Images will be prominently displayed on our website.
- A tally will be kept by the Shutterbug board of all monthly challenges. Total tally count during the month of our Annual Dinner will be used to finalize and rank all who participated in the f-64 Challenge.
- Recognition will be as follows:
- Recognition at our Annual Dinner will include the f-64 award of Shutterbug Photographer-of-the-Year. 2nd, 3rd, and honorable mention.
- This ceremony can run in conjunction with or in lieu of awards recognizing participants in our annual photo hunt.
- This is to be an annual award and a new round of challenges will begin immediately following our annual dinner for the following year.
